The Gardening Angels Meet May 29 This group of gorgeous gardeners will meet May 29th at 6:00pm at the church. The focus of our group is to beautify the church grounds. We like to have fun while we produce colorful results. Do you have a couple hours to get some fresh air and pitch in? We'll provide you with excellent gloves if you provide your own gardening tools. Contact Marilyn Foote via the church office for more information...or just show up! We need help whether you can help one time or become a regular of our group.
Our Church Community Garden: The Seeds of Gratitude Are Sown A special thank you to the "America the Beautiful Fund", Hume Seeds, the Kawsnick family, The Peters family, the Burris family and the Bytner family for their donations and efforts on behalf of the Cross Roads Community Garden. We now have all the seeds we need as well as some gloves, chicken wire, and books on gardening & nutrition that we will share with our gardening kids. WONDERFUL PROGRESS so far!
This past weekend we planted tomato plants, pepper plants, pole beans, bush beans, corn and zuccini. Stepping Stones Child Care Center has all the seeds they need to get the children planting as well.
The community garden will immediately benefit the Meals on Wheels program and the Pleasent Valley Homeless Shelter via when our church serves dinner there. Produce will also be shared with the approximatly 53 students of Stepping Stones Day Care, our partners in growing. The goal is to not only help provide fresh produce for those in need, but to also help teach about a hands on approach in supporting missions in the community and useful gardening skills. A complete doner list will be publicized in June. THANK YOU ALL!
Coupons Galore! Our church has collected and sent over $20,000.00 in coupons overseas to help out our military families. Keep it up Cross Roads members!
